Carpenter's
Tool Boxes.
This tool box has all of the design elements of a
traditional ’Carpenter’s Tool Box’, with an added drawer
in the bottom.
You can leave out the drawer if you like and just build
the basic box, by making the side parts B and C the same
size.
Using straight cuts and simple joinery techniques, the
tool box is a good project for beginners. Just cut the
pieces to size, assemble, finish and install the drawer
handle.
The completed tool box measures 35 1/2" long by 11" deep
by 18 1/2" tall.

This
very simple tool box makes a wonderful project to do
with your child. The basic design is functional and
simple, a long box with a handle.
The tool box I was given for Christmas when I was 4
years old has served me well for almost 50 years, but I
thought perhaps it was time to design a second toolbox.
The completed tool box measures 22" long by 8 3/4" deep
by 7 3/4" tall.

power tools: Table saw, drill (for handle holes).
This
box has a removable tray so you can store two layers of
tools, and a top section for other bits and pieces. For
your kids you can paint the location for each tool on
the base of the trays, so kids can put tools back in the
right place. If in doubt about the size, lay out the
tools you’d like to house, and make the box to suit.
This simple tool box will please not only an eight to
12-year old, but grown-ups as well.
A good size for a child is two-thirds of an adult’s tool
box.
The completed tool box measures 16" long by 8" deep by
12" tall.
